What I know to be true is how in guantamino bay they are treating their prisoners unfairly. Even though some people think that it is alright I don’t but that is only my opinion. Since they are torturing their prisoners by drowning them I think that it was unfair for the president to win the court case against the prisoner in the Guantamino Bay prison because the way that they were interrogating them was torcher. It was cruel and unusual punishment and that’s breaking the 8th amendment. So it was like our own government got to break the law and get away with it and I think that is unfair to the people. Also they broke another law but this one was international law. What they did was put a 15 year old teenager in that prison and that is an adult prison and you are not allowed to do that. The government also managed to get away with that too. What they said to win the case was that they didn’t think that it was cruel and unusual punishment. Since in that amendment never did say what was and what wasn’t cruel and unusual. So that is what I know to be true.
Truth
What I need from my parents is support and attention. The reason why I need attention is because if I have a problem and I want to talk about it with someone then I won’t be able to because I have no ones attention. Also if I do something important in school or an activity and I want to tell them about it I wont be able to because I don’t have their attention. I also need support from them because if I get into a sport or activity and I want someone to be there for me I won’t have anyone because I don’t even have their support and they are my parents. I think that every child should also have the support of their parents because it could make them feel bad and think that their parents have no feelings for them and that they don’t mean anything to their parents. And I think one last thing that a child needs from their parents is caring. I think that because a everyone need someone to care for them and no one else could be better then a parent. That is what I think I need from my parent.
What I want to learn from my culture is more about the past. The reason why I want to learn about my past because I think that it is interesting. I think that it’s interesting because the past in my culture involves the Incas since I am from Peru. I also think that it is an exciting part of my culture and past. I want to know how they lived by and through what years that they lived in. Another thing is what holidays, religion, customs, and rituals they might have done. The food of the country also interests me and how they came up with it. Ways they lived high up in the mountain areas and how they survived there. And if I can find out how they built the place that is in Machu Picchu. Those are now some things that I want to learn from my culture.
3 aspects of my culture
Food, language, and music
The reason why I would put food is because the food from where I am from is Peru and it is different from the other countries. The food there has in a way is the same because it has rice, chicken, and beans but the difference is that the people of Peru put in different ingredients. The language is Spanish but every country does not have the same type of Spanish. What I mean the same type of Spanish is because some words that might mean something in one country might mean something in another country. And the music in Peru is also different because the type of instruments that they use. The different like they use are box that is made out of a type of wood and this different type of flute and many other instruments that you usually never hear get played in other countries.
Success
What I think success is when you are doing a goal and you succeed in what you are trying to do. To me it also means trying your best at something that you are doing. Success also means to me accomplishing your goals. To me it also means to have determination . It also means to me having the will to never give up until you are accomplished with what you do.
What I first thought when I heard that I was going to work in groups with people from Canada I thought it was going to be exciting. I also liked that I got to do the part that I wanted to do with other people that they wanted to do the same thing as I did. The part that we were doing was teen violence which I thought the book The Outsiders showed a lot of. Before my group actually was doing the project I thought it was going to be not that hard. When we finally started to do the project it was harder than I expected it to be. The reason I thought that was because it was a little bit hard to meet up at certain times. In the end even though it was hard I thought that doing this project was still a good learning experience for me because I learned how to blog and write better than I used to be able to do. I also got to talk to different people that also had different opinions about how the book is about because we both live in different types of environments.
In the ending chapters in The Outsiders I would say that the word here is friendship. The reason why i would say it is because they all have to stick together because in life they all need each other. Darry, Sodapop, and Ponyboyall go to court to decide where Ponyboy goes. They never really even let Ponyboy speak and when they did they only asked him yes or no questions really. They mostly asked everyone else other than him about how he was and how they were all living. During their time in the court they also found out that the people were going to drop the charges against Johnny even though he was dead. Then after court Ponyboy went to school but he wasn’t doing the same as he used to. His graades started to be a lot worse. When he goes into his room he picks up the book that he and Johnny used to read and he found a letter in there. The letter that he picked up in the book was from Johnny. That is what I think these two chapters are about.
The word i woulld choose for this chapter is survival. The reason why i chose this word again is because they all had to survive the RUMBLE. Also because Dally didn’t survive and got shot by the cops. When they were all in that rumble they all had to make sure that they didn’t get to badly hurt. Dally made sure not to get hurt but he got killed from stealing a stire and chased by the cops. Also right after the rumble when Johnny didnt survive and died.
The word i would choose for this chapter is friendship. The reason is because Pony boy stays in the hopital to make sure that Johnny is alright and so is Dally. The members of all the gang just go to see Johnny and Dally because it is as if they are all brothers. They all show up to mostly see Johnny because everyone cared about Johnny there was no one there that hated Johnny. Johnny was everyones friend and they showed that they were all his too. So this i why i chose the word friendship for these two chapters.
The Word i would choose from this chapter is survival. This chapter show many things about survival. You see Ponyboy and Johnny both stay in a church for about a week with with limited supplies. They just had to stick with each other cause thats all they really had. Also when the church was burning Ponyboy and Johnny both went in there to try to save the lives of little kids and risked their own lives just to save the kids.
Chapters 3 and 4
The word i would pick in this is criminal. The reason why is because both Ponyboy and Johnny both run away from a crime that they did. They decided to get out of town. So then the decide to go somewhere so that then no one could find them and then they wouldn’t go into prison. Just because they killed a Soc. So this is why I would call these chapters with the word criminal.
